Subject: Exciting Author Day Event with Lindsay Hanson Metcalf on April 23rd
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are thrilled to announce a special event for our students: Author Day with Lindsay Hanson Metcalf on Wednesday, April 23rd. This wonderful program was generously established by Gwen Laas's father-in-law, and we are grateful for his support.
Lindsay Hanson Metcalf, a former student of his, has embraced literacy and built a remarkable career as an author. She will be sharing her journey and insights with our students during her Author Talk. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from a successful author and be inspired by her experiences.
For more information about Lindsay Hanson Metcalf and her books, please visit her website. https://lindsayhmetcalf.com/
We look forward to this enriching event and hope it will inspire a love for reading and writing in our students.

EJSHS Students & Parents:
Tomorrow, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th graders will take the Kansas Assessments. Students should report to their 1st hour class by 8:00 AM. Please ensure they arrive on time, well-rested, have a healthy breakfast, and bring a fully charged Chromebook with the charger.
Testing locations for each grade will be posted just outside the office and announced during morning announcements. Thanks for supporting our students' success!

The Bearcat music ensembles continued their busy contest season today at the KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival in Concordia. Mrs. Kyler consistently engages multiple muscle groups and cognitive skills to enhance our students' hand-eye coordination, all while ensuring they have fun. It was an absolute delight to watch!

LATE START WEDNESDAY - April 9th - School starts at 10:00 am. Doors will open 2 hours later than normal. A grab and go breakfast will be served. Bus routes will run 2 hours later than normal.

EJSHS Parents and Students,
State Assessments are coming up this Thursday and Friday from 8:00–10:00 AM for our 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th graders. We ask that students come to school on time, with their Chromebooks fully charged and their charging cords in hand.
Students not testing will have alternative activities during that time. To help everyone do their best, we recommend getting a good night’s sleep and starting the day with a healthy breakfast. Breakfast at school will still be served on those days.
Thanks so much for your support—we’re cheering on all our test-takers!

Our kindergarteners are diligently working on developing their understanding of math through grouping. The use of manipulatives provides them with a hands-on approach to learning. Additionally, they have been introduced to addition and subtraction equations. Way to go, Kindergarten!
