Dear Ellsworth and Rice County Parents & Patrons,

It has been a great start to the 2022-2023 school year and I am grateful to the support our community continues to offer our school district.

USD #327 will be engaging in Public Listening Sessions in the near future.  The purpose of these sessions is to focus on five questions.

  • What are the characteristics of a successful high school graduate?
  • What is USD #327 doing really well?
  • What are some areas where USD #327 can continue to grow?
  • What do we want to be known FOR?
  • What is the best way to communicate with you?

Our first session is scheduled for Oct. 24, 2pm at Ellsworth Elementary.  The second session is scheduled to take place at Kanopolis Middle School, 7pm that evening.  A third session is scheduled at Ellsworth Jr/Sr High School.  This session will take place Nov. 1, 7pm in the school commons.

The administrators, teachers and school staff hope you will join us for one of these public sessions as we are looking forward to learning about our community and school system through you.

Additionally, November 8th is the General Election in our state, and your vote can make a difference for Kansas schools.  Whether you plan to vote in person or by advance ballot, there are a few dates you will need to keep in mind:

October 18th - is the voter registration deadline. To confirm your registration is current, visit www.ksvotes.org.

October 19th - November 7th, 12pm is the timeframe in which you can cast your vote in person early.  Ellsworth County citizens will report to the following location: 210 N. Kansas, Ellsworth.  Rice County will begin accepting in person early votes on Oct. 24, 2022- November 7th, 12pm at the Rice County Courthouse, 101 W. Commercial, Lyons.

November 1st - is the last day to request an advance ballot; you can submit your request online at ksvotes.org.

November 8th - is Election Day! Vote in person at your designated polling place.

Make your plan now to ensure your voice is heard this November, and encourage your friends, family members, and coworkers to do the same.

Sincerely,

 Deena Hilbig
