Chromebooks, like vehicles, need routine maintenance to keep them in peak performance for as long as possible.
At the end of each academic year, students in Grade 7 - Grade 12 will return the Chromebook and charger they were issued during the school year. This will allow us to run specific commands on each device, as well as check for any damages that need to be repaired, to help ensure the longevity of each machine. In August, students will be issued the same device and charger they had the previous academic year.
For this academic year, Seniors will be returning their devices and chargers on Thursday, May 20th. Students in Grade 7 - Grade 11 will be returning their devices and chargers on the morning of Wednesday, May 26th.
On May 27th, all USD #327 issues Chromebooks will be remotely disabled and will no longer function as they did during the school year. We hope that everyone is able to get their devices checked in before leaving for summer break, if not, in addition to them being disabled, the following “missing device” fees will be levied:
Tuesday, June 1st: $100
Monday, June 7th: an additional $150 for a total of $250
As we continue to develop our 1-to-1 Chromebook program, we welcome any feedback you may have at this time. You can direct any questions or suggestions to Dan Magie: dmagie@usd327.org.
Sincerely,
Dan Magie
