Immunizations for 11 & 12 year olds

The Ellsworth County Health Department will be conducting an immunization clinic at KMS on Tuesday, October 27th for those students who are 11 or 12 years of age who will be needing their Tdap (Tetanus booster) and Meningococcal vaccines.  A dose of each is required before entry into 7th grade and can be given at 11 or 12 years of age.  They will also be offering the HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccine.  The HPV vaccine can be started with a 2 dose series at age 11 or 3 dose series if started after 15 years of age.  You will find the consent form on the district website under Documents / Health Documents / Vaccine Consent Form.

Please note, although these immunizations can be given at 11 or 12 years of age, they are not required for school entry until 7th grade.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call the Health Department or email me at Bpeterman@usd327.org.
