Last year, funding shortfalls forced Kansas school districts to transfer $382+ million from general funds to cover special education costs. As a district Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo School District transferred $466,000 to cover the shortfall. SPED funding shortages hurt ALL Kansas kids.
