At USD 327, our mission is to provide an exceptional education experience and encourage responsible citizenship to each and every student. We believe the community, parents, faculty, staff and administrators, working together, can help promote positive personal character and challenge every learner to strive for excellence. We ARE better together.

A point of pride for Ellsworth Elementary School (EES) is the development of a research-based, cohesive, and consistent curriculum across the primary grades, and extending to the upper-elementary grades as well.

We have three sections at each grade level, Kindergarten through 3rd grade. With an average teacher-student ratio of 16-1, K-3, our smaller class sizes allow for more individual and localized educational experiences.

Components of our approach to providing exceptional education to our students include:

  • Pathways to Reading, Wonders, and Science of Reading Concepts

  • Math Expressions

  • Daily Tiered MTSS Math and Reading Groups

  • Mystery Science, or Mystery Doug

  • Scholastic News

  • Moby Max

  • PATHS (SEL), incorporating yoga, drumming, BalAVisX, and SEL Literacy

  • FastBridge

  • Agriculture Awareness lessons, conducted by Ellsworth Junior/Senior High School FFA members

  • Citizenship and Character Development including visits to: Ellsworth County Historical Society, law enforcement, firefighter station, Ellsworth Food Bank, Citizen State Bank, Good Samaritan Assisted Living facility and much more

  • Bearcub B.E.S.T. Jobs

We have twelve general education teachers as well as an Interventionist, P.E., Music, Library, and Technology instructor, making a combined total of 356 years of teaching. A school social worker plays an integral part of our staff as well as two teacher aides who offer support to teachers with projects and MTSS Groups.

We are a Title I school, therefore have a certified Title teacher and two, Title I Aides. Our relationship with Central Kansas Cooperative in Education (CKCIE) allows us to provide individualized services for students with exceptionalities.

If you are looking to be a part of a dynamic team of educators, apply for one of our open positions!
